- June 27 2013. NZ Dermatological Society congratulates Auckland Council on its new Health and Hygiene Bylaw. According to Fairfax NZ News, from 1 July 2014, Auckland Council will require commercial sun-bed businesses to be licensed and comply with a new code of practice including restricting use to those 18 years and over. Operators of other services that risk burning the skin, including laser and pulsed-light treatments, will also need licences to operate.
- The New Zealand Dermatological Society is the official body of specialist dermatologists in New Zealand. Members of Society specialise in the provision of high quality care and treatment of skin diseases, skin cancer and cosmetic procedures involving the skin. All members of the Society participate in an extensive, comprehensive Medical Council of New Zealand approved continuing professional development program to maintain high professional standards.
