Quiz
Nail abnormalities – 10 cases

This quiz will test your diagnostic skills in diagnosing nail abnormalities.

Diseases of the fingernails and toenails may result in abnormalities of the nail plate, the cuticle and nail fold. Treatment should be directed at the cause, and may need to be continued for months or years while the nails grow out.

Nail plate abnormalities are often due to inflammatory conditions affecting the matrix or nail bed. Specific diagnoses may be made from characteristic appearances.

For each of the ten cases, study the image(s) and then answer the questions. You can click on the image to view a larger version if required.

Each case should take approximately 2 minutes to complete. There is a list of suggested further reading material at the end of the quiz.

When you finish the quiz, you can download a certificate.
