Invasive squamous cell carcinoma
What are the clinical features?
Invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the lip most often presents as a non-healing erosion or ulcer overlying an infiltrated plaque (figure 16). Any nodule that is getting bigger over weeks to months should be treated with suspicion. Lip cancers are prone to early metastasis and should be excised promptly and the patient should be followed carefully.
