What are the clinical features?
Well-demarcated dry white plaques are best described as 'leukokeratosis', rather than 'leukoplakia', as the latter term historically has implied malignancy – most white plaques are harmless, stable, degenerative lesions. If there is clinical doubt, a biopsy should be performed.
