Fibrous papule of the nose
Describe the disorder
The fibrous papule of the nose is a firm skin coloured or pink dome-shaped papule on or around the nose. Often confused with a dermal naevus, they are now considered to be a solitary variant of angiofibroma. Multiple angiofibromas are seen in tuberous sclerosis, when they tend to be more vascular. If treatment of a fibrous papule is required, shave biopsy or electrosurgery may be adequate.
