What is the name for these lesions?
These are stucco keratoses. Stucco keratoses are asymptomatic dry superficial papules, which start to appear on the lower extremities in the fifth decade of life.
What can be done to remove them?
Stucco keratoses are usually so numerous it is impracticable to remove them all. Destructive techniques such as cryotherapy, electrosurgery or scalpel surgery have to be done with caution on the lower leg as delayed healing and unsightly scarring is likely.
The appearance can be improved by regularly applying a keratolytic agent containing salicylic acid, urea or alphahydroxyacid.
