What is the dark skin lesion?
Lentigo simplex
What else might it be?
This was histologically proven to be lentigo simplex, a benign lesion. However it was excised because it stood out as different from the patient's other freckles, as it was irregular in shape and there was an adjacent pale brown macule. The dermatologist was concerned it may have been a melanoma.
