Erosive pustular dermatosis

Erosive pustular dermatosis affects sun-damaged, balding skin, so usually affects elderly men. It is often associated with solar keratoses and squamous cell carcinoma. Greenish, crusted, malodorous plaques overly moist erythematous erosions. Mild and severe cases are illustrated. Biopsy may be necessary. Treatment with topical antibiotic / topical steroid combination, e.g. fusidic acid / betamethasone valerate cream, is usually very effective, but may need to be used for several weeks.
