Describe its clinical features and treatment.
Folliculitis keloidalis (formerly known as acne keloidalis) affects the occipital scalp. The primary lesion is a follicular pustule. Marked inflammation eventually results in large thickened hairless scars. It is more prevalent in black-haired, dark-skinned individuals. Treatment is challenging but may include oral retinoids, high dose antibiotics and surgery.
