Lipoma / lipomas
Describe the disorder
Lipoma is a subcutaneous tumour of fat cells. Characteristically, a lipoma is a soft or rubbery mass that slips under ones fingers as one palpates normal-appearing overlying skin. They are frequently multiple, and most are several centimetres in diameter. They are usually asymptomatic, so removal by liposuction or surgical excision is done for cosmetic reasons.
