Pseudocyst of auricle
Describe the disorder
In contrast, a pseudocyst of the auricle does not have a follicular opening. It presents as a benign swelling on or behind the ear in a child or young adult, and may follow minor trauma. It contains clear or yellowish fluid, which may be drained through a wide bore needle or using a punch biopsy; a pressure dressing should be applied to reduce recurrence.
