Folliculitis keloidalis
How would you treat it?
Folliculitis keloidalis (previously known as acne cheloidalis) is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the nape of the neck of black-haired men. Painful inflammatory papules, pustules and nodules surround and destroy hair follicles resulting in cicatricial alopecia and keloid scarring.
Management is difficult but involves prolonged courses of anti-inflammatory antibiotics, isotretinoin and surgical excision.
